That's right, I finally got to ride, twice this week, for the first time in months! And I do mean
months. Once on Tuesday and once today. It was SO awesome too, except I didn't do too well today because my legs were so sore from Tuesday's lesson. I rode a new *BIG* horse on Tuesday, a fleabitten grey that had an awesome canter, very smooth. I hadn't done the best trotting in the world but I did some great cantering and kept my butt down in the saddle the whole time! Today, I trotted very well but I wasn't collected enough at the trot. I was on a different crazy bay mare that had the weirdest canter ever. You could never just get her to go to the canter off the trot. She had to trot faster and faster and faster and when you least expected it, she started cantering while you were still standing in the stirrups. She also had this problem with the reins and so they had to be really loose, which is a pain to canter with. And I mean
loose, like she had to be able to move her head freely or she'd freak. I almost fell off a few times because she'd also suddenly stop at the canter if you held the reins too tight. But overall she was a good horse and was trying her best, I just wasn't oriented with her. My trainer also said I did great. I love my trainer, she's awesome. So overall, it's been a good horsey week!
